Makris Gialos

Makri Gialos lies on the southeast coast facing the Libyan Sea and is 35 km from Sitia and 29 km from Ierapetra. The name Makri Gialos means "long beach" and that is exactly what one can expect to find here; a long sandy beach with crystal clear. Its shallow waters are perfect for children and non-swimmers, and further out for more experienced swimmers. On the beach one can find Taverns and bars. The town is within walking distance and the fishing port being the most picturesque part of the village.
