Trodos Mountains

This impressive mountain range streches across the centre of Cyprus and reaches up to 1,952 metres at Chionistra , the highest point of Mount Olympos.Visitors can admire the Byzantine churches with their frescos, icons and architecture, from which 9 are included in the list of UNESCO. Also in these mountains there is plenty of fauna and flora, and many villages. Visitors may stay in one of these villages and can see from inside the warm hospitality of  Cypriots, and enjoy misty mornings and breathtaking views.
 Furthermore this mountain there are very intresting and important monasteries with the most famous the Kykko monastery, which houses a golden icon of Virgin Mary, allegedly painted ne Saint Luke.
