Larnaca

Larnaca is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and has plenty of historical sites and is found on the southern coast of Cyprus.. The city was called Kition in the days of the Old Testament and the ruins of the ancient city can still be seen Some of the attractions and historical monuments are the Ancient Kition, in the northwest of Larnaca, the Church of Agios Lazaros and the District museum containing antiquities and founding form Neolithic to the Roman periods, and also the beautiful Larnaca's Medieval Museum which is housed in the Larnaca fortress on the city's seafront. This fortress was built in 1625 by the WTurksand was used as prison during the early British rule.Nowadays its inner courtyard is used as an open air-garden-theatre during the summer season
