Kontokali - Corfu

Kontokali is on east coast of Corfu island, next to shallow Gouvia Bay approx. 5 klms from Corfu town.  It is a predominantly flat coastal area with a low peninsula curving around to side where most accommodations are located.

In the village of Kontokali there is a small local church apparently one of the oldest on the island of Corfu. Also there are remnants of a castle, reputedly to be the place where the Venetian knight Kontokali resided in the much early days.

Nightlife offers a variety of sufficient bars and tavernas for low-key, relaxed evening entertainment. One or two bars offer live music and Greek nights
