Chromonastiri, Rethymno

Chromonastiri Village is located in the area Perdiki Metochi, approx. 12 klm from Rethymnon.  There is a traditional café and two tavernas and a minimarket and the nearest beach is 7 klm away.  

In the village there are two fascinating Byzantine churches, the church of the Panagia Kera and church of Agios Eftihios which have cruciform architecture and contain traces of frescoes the most interesting being a large painting of the Virgin Mary. The location of the churches allows a marvelous view of the valley.
