CRETE
Crete is the most southern and largest island in Greece and by far the most beautiful and fascinating of all the Greek Islands. According to the latest census it has over 600,000 inhabitants. It has a temperate Mediterranean climate.
With its exquisite 1,046 kilometer-long coastline dotted with numerous coves, bays and peninsulas which afford a multitude of sandy beaches along the magnificent blue Mediterranean Sea. The island is divided into four districts: Chania, Rethymnon, Heraklion and Lassithi. Each district varies from the other and is special in its own way with superb beaches, beautiful villages and outstanding architectural heritage.
